Alumni Profile: Sarah Lins

When Sarah Lins first set foot on Texas State University’s campus as a high school student, she immediately fell in love with its natural beauty. That visit set the course for what would become a transformative journey—one that began with public relations and led to a flourishing career in the arts.

As a Public Relations major, Sarah quickly immersed herself in campus life. Managing social media for KTSW, the student-run radio station, sparked her passion for storytelling. During her sophomore year, she joined Young Life—an experience that became a cornerstone of her college journey, deepening her faith and forming lasting friendships. By senior year, Sarah had found a way to blend her love of wellness and leadership as a fitness instructor at the Texas State Recreation Center.

During her time at Texas State, Sarah developed a growing interest in event planning through her PR studies. While she valued what she was learning in the classroom, she discovered a greater passion that she couldn’t ignore. That's when her love of painting took her from a simple hobby to a potential career.

Since graduating, Sarah has worked in event planning and turned her love for art into a thriving business: Sarah Lucille Art. What began as a personal passion project has evolved into a full-time creative pursuit, with Sarah producing commissioned pieces, prints, and original artworks.

Her style—a vibrant blend of pop art and collage—gives her work a sense of free-spirited energy that reflects her personality and creative journey. As a self-taught artist, Sarah embraces the freedom to explore without being confined to traditional methods. This openness not only fuels her originality but also allows her to continuously evolve as an artist.

Each piece she creates tells a story, combining bold visuals with layered meaning. Whether it’s a custom commission or work born from inspiration, Sarah’s art invites you into a world where emotion and experience are woven together. With an upcoming show on the horizon at Art for the People Gallery in Austin, she’s excited to keep pushing boundaries and seeing where her creativity takes her next.

As she continues to grow her business and her artistic voice, Sarah Lins is a testament to the idea that passions can evolve—and that sometimes, the most beautiful paths are the ones you never planned.
