Housley Outstanding Female Scholarship

Award Amount: $2000

This Housley Outstanding Female Scholarship awards the top female student from the Honors College Course HON3397J taught each Fall at Texas State University by Bill Poston.

The Housley Principled Leadership Program is designed to bring self-awareness and skills to the development of student leaders. With sessions like You, Inc. covering individual brand power, themed discussions about the need for principled leaders and a panel stacked with business professionals that will challenge definitions of "service" and providing applicable and inspiring content each week.

This award is meant to help a female leader who is pursuing entrepreneurship right out of college.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Female enrolled in and completing Honors College Course HON3397J, also known as Housley Principled Leadership.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Housley Outstanding Female Scholarship is appointed. The recipient is chosen by the Professor and teaching staff and awarded at the final class of the semester.

HISTORY OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS

The scholarship was created and is supported by Michal Waechter, Founder and CEO of Waechter Consulting. She earned her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas State University and has more than a decade of experience in the San Antonio market. She specializes in business development and has diverse experience in strategy, program execution, operational improvement, physician outreach, brand positioning and consumer engagement.

As a lifetime Bobcat, Michal wants to encourage other Texas State females to feel empowered.
