Student Spotlight: Parker Sheppard

Meet Parker Sheppard- a proud Bobcat known for his leadership, philanthropy, and ability to connect with others. Drawn to Texas State for its vibrant atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and strong business program, Parker knew it was the perfect place to stay close to home while growing into the person he strives to be.

At the heart of Parker’s experience at Texas State is his involvement with Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE), a fraternity grounded in leadership, brotherhood, and service. As Philanthropy Chair, Parker leads community service efforts, tracks leadership and philanthropy hours, and helps organize events. SAE’s philanthropy is the Bryson Benefit Organization, a nonprofit supporting families in imminent crisis, created in memory of a beloved brother, Bryson. Parker shares that what he loves most about the organization:

“The connections I’ve made, the opportunity to help others, and the brotherhood we share.”- Parker Sheppard.

He hopes to see SAE excel in leadership and philanthropy moving forward and wants brothers to have fun while maintaining the connections and network built within Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

As a junior majoring in Marketing at the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, Parker plans to launch his career in the corporate world and thrive in the field of marketing following his graduation. With the connections he has made through McCoy and his outgoing personality, there is no doubt he will excel in his future.

His journey is already filled with accomplishments, including seven philanthropy awards, leadership recognition, and excelling in donation and service efforts. Parker shares that his main motivation in life are the people around him. Most of all, his mom- a three-time cancer survivor and the strongest woman he knows. Surrounding himself with motivated people pushes him to keep striving.

Through his time at Texas State, Parker has built a strong foundation of soft skills, expanded his professional network, and grown into a confident people-centered leader. His biggest goal in life is to be successful enough to give back to those who gave to him- especially his mom.

Those who know Parker describe him as charismatic, kind, giving, bubbly, and always looking at life as the glass half-full. With an outgoing and positive personality, he’s someone who brings energy wherever he goes.
